The Lautoka sugar mill will start operations this Friday, says the Sugar Industry Tribunal.

The mill was scheduled to commence the 2020 crushing season on June 24, but had to postpone the start due to a mechanical failure.

Registrar of the Sugar Tribunal, Timothy Brown says the July 10th date has been set after consultations with Fiji Sugar Corporation.

All growers in the Lautoka mill area have been urged to start harvesting from Thursday.
