POPULAR savoury makers Bhikhabhai & Company Ltd has come a long way from what they started off 90 years ago.
Today the sweets and savouries made and distributed by the company has reached as far as India, UK and the US through its online portal.
Yesterday the company launched its newest facility for its online customers which had been lacking from their website for the past six years.
Company chief executive officer Viraaj Lad said although these times had been challenging, they simply couldn’t sit back and see their revenue decline.
Mr Lad said with the new added facility on their website their customers could now order and pay online directly from their website www.bhikhabhai.com.fj using their debit and credit card.
“Over the past few years, Bhikhabhai team have been working to be a faster, stronger, better company, one that is focused on meeting consumer needs in achieving our company’s vision.
“Having an online shopping platform was always a desire. This was expatiated into a need in no time with impacts of COVID on our business,” he said.
Mr Lad said with tourism and travel being affected they hoped they would continue to contribute to increasing Fiji’s export in their own sweet little way.
“We encourage more businesses to explore the opportunities technology and online shopping has to offer and together we can all help bring business to Fiji.”
The company’s website has been developed by Oceanic Communications with Westpac Banking Corporation assisting with the online payment options.
Mr Lad said the team at Oceanic Communications had also developed a backend order management system for their team where they were able to view, process and send out orders with the option of shipping via DHL, EMS Courier or allow pick up from any of their shops within Fiji.
