WITH an aim to empower its youths using God’s word, the Roman Catholic church in Fiji and Rotuma have organised a one-day seminar for their youths to mark the end of Synodal year.

One of the leaders of the Archdiocese Youth CommissionPita Waqavonovono, said today the church had organised a seminar for the young people.

“One of the activities that we are hoping for the young people to start discussing is what they can take back to their parish communities to assist in the work of their parish priests and also assist in the work of their Parish pastoral councils,” Mr Waqavonovono said.

“This event marks the fact that young people are now willing to participate actively in the work of the church.”

Hundreds of youths were part of the Youth festival that was held at the Sacred Heart College in Suva.

The thanksgiving mass to mark the closing of the Archdiocesan Synod will be held tomorrow at the Sacred Heart College ground.
