THE Ministry of Health and Medical Services Oncology unit today hosted the WOWS Kids Fiji to a morning tea to commemorate Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

National Adviser for Non- Communicable Disease Dr Isimeli Tukana reminded the children of the Bible verse, Proverbs 18: 14.

“This verse says if the human spirit can withstand human illness who can withstand a crushed spirit?”

Co-founder of WOWS Kid Fiji Sina Kami acknowledged the initiative shown by the paediatrics oncology unit for raising the much needed awareness on childhood cancer.

“We need to be there for our children and it takes a lot of support from everyone to help a family and their children to go through this journey,” she said.
