THEY may be from China, but having been living in Fiji for the past three years is what makes Yolanda Xue and her husband Tom Dong, call Fiji their second home.

The couple arrived into the country in 2015 and have been living in Pacific Harbour after falling in love with Fiji’s geographical location and sea.

Last week, they took a break from their busy schedules to do something they both love — mountain climbing in Nepal.

The two climbed the Ama Dablam Mountains in the Himalaya range of eastern Nepal and reached the highest peak of 6812 metres.

Ms Xue said what made their adventure more special was they were able to take a photograph with a flag of their second home.

“It is one of the most difficult mountains in the world that all mountain climbers want to summit,” she said in an email to The Fiji Times from Nepal. “I feel so lucky to summit with the Fiji flag.”
