OHS policy

Children in schools are seen doing duties without proper protective equipment.

I believe OHS policies are only in the papers for most of the schools and many heads don’t even understand the OHS act.

I believe inspectors and OHS officers are daily witnessing children doing assigned tasks at schools, but don’t care, yet we talk about duty of care.

I believe children collect rubbish without gloves, clean toilets without boots, use worn-out equipment and face many hazards.

I believe OHS is a proactive approach in preventing accidents rather than reactive.
