National Fire Authority officers from Rakiraki were able to control a major fire at the Rups Big Bear store in the early hours of Wednesday.
The fire started at the back of the building around 3.30am.
“A security guard alerted police about the fire at Rups shop,” said police spokesperson Wame Bautolu.
“The fire department managed to contain the fire before it spread.”
NFA officers from Tavua were called in to assist the team from Rakiraki.
Mr Bautolu said investigation continues into what caused the fire.
