OFC Women’s Nations Cup: Fiji qualifies

FIJI has qualified to the OFC Women’s World Cup qualifier after defeating American Samoa 2-0 at Lautoka’s Churchill Park this afternoon.

The side walloped Vabuatu 5-10 in its opening game and was held by the Solomon Islands in the second spell and a deserving win against American Samoa to win the OFC Women’s Nations Cup.

Striker Trina Davis and Cema Nasau scored a goal each for Fiji in the first half while no scores recorded in the second spell.

Fiji is expected to face New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Island at New Caledonia in November.

Meanwhile, in another game held this afternoon Vanuatu defeated Solomon Islands 1-0.
