THE Vodafone Lautoka Blues will receive $50,000 from their sponsor if they win the Oceania Football Federation Champions title against Team Wellington in the home and away final.
Vodafone chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad said the company had spent $70,000 towards the team’s O’League preparation and would again donate a $50,000 incentive should the team win the final.
“Vodafone further extends our support towards the team by announcing to incentivise the players with $50,000 cash bonus on the win of the OFC Champions League,” Prasad said.
Lautoka soccer president Abdul Kadar said the incentives would inspire the players to win.
He thanked Vodafone for its continued support that helped the side reach the final.
He said it was a morale booster for the boys.
“Vodafone has been always helping the sport. Without them, we wouldn’t have been here as the sponsorship is playing a vital role in any sports,” Kadar said.
“I would like to thank the executives and staff of Vodafone and we will give our best shot.”
The first game will be held in New Zealand on Sunday and the decider to be played at Lautoka’s Churchill Park on May 20.
