WALKING for about six kilometres was no problem for 85-year-old Changeshwar Sami as he braved the blazing sun to mark his ballot paper at the Tabucola Polling Station in Labasa yesterday.
While returning from the station, Mr Sami still managed to put a smile on his face even though he was tired from the walk back home.
Mr Sami said even though the road was dusty and the sun was hot, he was not going to miss out on an opportunity of a lifetime.
He said he was glad he could finally have his say in Fiji’s future leaders.
Mr Sami’s wish was that the newly-elected government would bring positive changes for a better Fiji. Meanwhile, 153 people were expected to vote in Tabucola.
