THE Oceania Athletics Championships in Australia was a stepping stone for Mustafa Fall to get better.

Fall who is part of Team Fiji Athletics to the Pacific Games in Samoa next week said his ultimate goal at the Games was to be the best he could be.

“If it means winning a medal, it will be a bonus. I believe us athletes have one goal and that is to be a better person, to be a better us and to break our limits which is our personal best,” Fall told Fiji Times Online.

Fall is of the eight-member athletics team from Fiji who had qualified for the A qualifying standards and was in Australia last week competing at the Oceania Athletics Championships before the Pacific Games.

He was placed fifth in the men’s discus with a throw of 43.85m.

Fall will participate in the men’s discus and shot-put events at the Pacific Games.

Apia Park Stadium will host the athletics competition over five days starting July 15, 2019.
