Oceania 7s: Tonga and Cook Island qualify for HK 7s

TONGA and Cook Islands have secured a spot each in the 2019 Hong Kong qualifier tournament.

This after the teams win their fifth place semi finals at the 2018 Oceania 7s in Suva today.
This is not the end for these teams as the winner of the fifth place playoff will secure a spot in the Syndey and Hamilton events.
In the semi finals, Cook Islands beat New Caledonia  19-7 while Tonga beat Papua New Guinea  17-14.
Cook Islands captain Junior Napara said his team came for a mission which is half complete .
“Our aim was to qualify to the Hong Kong and other two tournaments. We have qualified for Hong Kong and now we want to want to secure our spot in Hamilton and Sydney.” He said.
