Oceania 7s: Fijiana 7s team aims high

THE Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team’s hopes of an Olympics spot looked even brighter after hammering Solomon Islands 75-0 during their 2019 Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship Women’s Olympic Qualifier pool game at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The Fijiana 7s team put on a commanding performance running in 11 tries with 10 conversions to put on the biggest score margin of the tournament after two days of competition.

“We always try to achieve our intent and goals in every game,” said coach Saiyasi Fuli.

“We played the same rugby we did on day one and tried to improve on every aspect of the game,” With a knockout spot secured Fuli said the mission had been the same regardless of who they played in the next round.

“We will still treat every game as a final and just try to play the best rugby we can.”
