NEW Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she felt the Fijian hospitality the moment she arrived into the country.

Speaking after her traditional welcome ceremony at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, PM Ardern thanked Fijians for the “warm welcome” she had received.

“We’ve felt Fijian hospitality the moment we arrived here,” she said to a room filled by cabinet ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, senior officers of the disciplinary forces, officials from various Government ministries and officers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces who performed the traditional welcome.

“It’s an honor to be welcomed in the traditional way.

“You can see the strength of the hospitality of the Fijian people from the moment we received the whale’s tooth… “It speaks of the importance of hospitality for you and we’re warmed by heart.”
