November 14 is election day

THE Writ for the 2018 General Election was issued this morning by the President Jioji Konrote to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission Suresh Chandra.
The Writ of Election was signed by Mr Konrote in the presence of the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, political party representatives and members of the diplomatic corps.
Mr Konrote told Mr Chandra that the registration of voters for the election is to close by 6pm today and he must receive the nominations of candidates at the Fijian Elections Office by 12pm on October 15, 2018.
He said the name of candidates, elected as members of parliament are to be endorsed and the writ is to be returned on or before November 28.
The general election will be held on November 14.
