There will be no second chances for teams as eliminations enter the semi-final round in the Fiji National Rugby League’s respective competitions at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.
All eyes will be on the preliminary finals for the Vodafone Super 8 competition where four teams will battle it out for two spots in the Grand Final.
Defending champion Nadera Panthers will be up against Ravoravo Rabbitohs. After going down 32-10 to favorites Saru Dragons in the first-round eliminations, the Panthers came back strongly to edge Navy Albatross 16-10 last week.
On paper, Rabbitohs will go in the stronger of two sides but are sure to face a mammoth obstacle in the form of Panthers which await them.
In the second preliminary final, Saru Dragons will take on the Police Sharks.
The Dragons have been in unstoppable form this season and are clear favorites to take out the title.
However, the rise of the Police Sharks have been the talk of the town and it will take a brave man to bet against the Sharks giving their all on Saturday.
In the women’s semi-finals, Yasawa Saints take on Police Blue while Lami Steelers battle the USP Raiders.
Games begin at 9am and admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
