No reconciliation on rape cases: Ali

THERE is no reconciliation on rape cases, says Fiji Women Crisis Centre coordinator Shamima Ali.

Ms Ali said rape and child abuses need to go through the courts.

“So I think rape cases are not reconcilable by village elders,” she said.

“It has to be reported and we must follow the path to getting her justice because and it must not be forced on her either through reconciliation, traditional means or threats and intimidation which often happens.”
