Fiji’s National Rugby League has ruled that the Burenitu Cowboys and Makoi Bulldogs teams will not be awarded points after last weekend’s mishap.

FNRL’s judiciary made the decision after revising its judiciary court of procedures following the abandonment of the game due to the misconduct by the two teams.

The teams were involved in a brawl just minutes into the second half of their game.

The brawl which also roped in spectators and club officials lasted at least three minutes before police and security officials dispersed the crowd.

Acting chief executive officer Don Natabe in a press conference with the media today reiterated that they do not condone any misconduct whether it be striking or verbally abusing the match officials.

He did not mince his words when he made these comments today.

“We want to make sure that the environment is safe,” he said.

Natabe said eight cases of offences were committed after last week’s Eastern Division Vodafone Cup competition.

He said the eight cases involved a team coach, two involved the match officials and five rugby league players.

Natabe also highlighted that the offence committed by the Makoi Bulldogs coach has led to his suspension.
