No action will be taken against the Social Democratic Liberal Party leader Viliame Gavoka and general secretary Lenaitasi Duru, says party president Ratu Epenisa Cakobau.
Ratu Epenisa issued this directive this morning before the party’s management board meeting commenced at the Southern Cross Hotel in Suva.
He said the case against Mr Gavoka and Mr Duru was now under police investigation.
“All actions against the party leader and general secretary are to be ceased immediately as we all concentrate our efforts on the 2022 general elections,” he said.
“The matters raised are now under police investigation and no action will be taken while we wait for its outcome.”
Mr Gavoka and Mr Duru are accused of falsifying documents and committing perjury under oath in a recent court case where SODELPA attempted to remove Mosese Bulitavu from Parliament.
