PROLIFIC goal-scorer Joseph Namariau is eager to stamp his mark in this year’s O’League competition.
The former Labasa and Suva striker will be a key man for his Solomon-based Tafea FC side as they prepare to battle against the top regional clubs at the OFC.
Namariau was impressive in yesterday’s friendly game against Vodafone Nadi and is likely to play a commanding role in their first game against the star-studded Hekari United outfit next week.
He said he was used to playing in Fiji and would do his best to help his team do well.
“I am looking forward to our first game and I will try my best to help my teammates do our team proud,” said Namariau.
“I am happy to come back and play soccer in Fiji and I expect tough battle from our opponents.
“I believe the experience of playing for the Labasa and Suva soccer teams will inspire him to play better.”
Team manager Stephen Felix said Namariau’s experience and class would be vital for his team’s campaign.
“Joseph has played in Fiji and he knows many Fijian players so it will be interesting to see him weave his magic touches against the best players in the region.”
“We are expecting good outings in this championship and we will do our best to qualify from our pool for the semi-final spots.”
Tafea is pooled with Vodafone Ba, Hekari United and AS Magenta. The OFC kicks off next week.
