NILSEN High School has set its sights on improving at the coming 2015 Coca-Cola Games finals in Suva.
The Vatukoula school won only a silver medal at last year’s finals.
Nilsen competed in the Tavua/Vatukoula/Rakiraki zone competition last month and finished fourth collecting nine medals.
The school’s principal Isei Naqia said they were optimistic of their chances.
“Our number of athletes has dropped from last year but we will be focusing on winning medals,” he said.
“We will be targeting medals in the sprint events.
“There are a lot of raw talents in Vatukoula who can be nurtured into better athletes.
“So for next year we hope to draw up strategies to lift up the level of our athletes.”
