NFP vice president dies at 71

NATIONAL Federation Party vice president Temo Sukanaivalu has died aged 71.

Mr Sukanaivalu served as NFP’s VP for 21 years, between 1992 and 2013, when the party had to be re-registered following the promulgation of the Political Parties Act.

He was known to the party for also establishing the NFP’s Eastern Division office on his home island of Vanuabalavu in Lau.

According to NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad, Mr Sukanaivalu was re-elected last year as a senior VP and was also a member of the party’s management board.

Mr Sukanaivalu passed away on Monday.
