Members of the National Federation Party (NFP) are quick to criticise the Government and come up with baseless criticism yet they have not provided any alternative budget to the one presented by Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Government MP Sanjay Kirpal said this while contributing to the 2022-2023 budget in Parliament yesterday.

“Opposition member Inosi Kuridrani is talking about sense but what sense does he have talking without any alternative budget or providing any alternative budget to the Minister for Economy,” he said.

“I was reading the article by the general secretary of NFP as she was comparing the FRA allocation from 2014 to 2022, and I can say by reading the statement that NFP has no idea what they are talking about.

“I have recently travelled around Viti Levu and rural areas and I’ve seen major infrastructure works being completed and some underway.”

He said bridges that were neglected by previous governments were newly built or currently under construction.

“These bridges should have been replaced and maintained during the Rabuka government but rather than NFP criticising them, they are made partners.

“Mr Biman said that he will never support coup leaders but what has happened now. This shows NFP can go to any length to win the election because they have no faith in themselves.”
