IF you become too sensitive about leadership, about your own ability and about your own ego then you’re bound to see failures, says Professor Biman Prasad.

The National Federation Party leader made the comment while launching the autobiography of Free Bird Institute chief executive officer and investor Hiroshi Taniguchi in Nadi on Tuesday.

Prof Prasad said the book titled ‘Free Bird Hiroshi Taniguchi’ involved much patience, emotions and the author’s personal journey in Fiji right up to attaining his citizenship.

“You have invited a politician to launch your book, so you can expect me to make some political observations,” the Opposition MP said.

“People have asked me what you as a leader will do neutrally. “I’m saying this in the context of what you’ve been talking about in terms of leadership.

“Leadership is about working together, especially if you are a political leader, it’s about listening to people, it’s about getting them to work with you.

“And it’s not about just making laws and making prescriptions about how things should happen.”

The book was first published in Japan in 2017 and has sold more than 10,000 hard copies and 3000 digital copies via Amazon.

The Nadi launch is a reprint of the book in the English language.

It entails the journey of the Japanese businessman and investor in Fiji, who sought to address the strong and growing need for English language tuition among the native Japanese population.
