THE National Fire Authority men’s team will be out to improve from its last year’s outing in this weekend’s Westpac-Vodafone Nadi Airport International Volleyball Festival.

The side lost to reigning champion Water Authority of Fiji (Suva) in last year’s quarter-finals but has prepared well to stamp its mark this year. The Lautoka-based team is hopeful of exposing its players against some of the best in the country.

Team manager Apimeleki Iosefo said there were no big names in the side, but the team had the potential to win the tournament.

He said the team had been part of the competition for five years.

“Last year we reached the quarter-finals but we are hoping to win on Saturday,” he said. He said apart from the competition, the players were also keen to meet new friends from other organisations.

“This tournament unites workers from different organisation and we are looking forward to meet new friends this year.

“It is a time to socialise and networking with workers from other organisations.”

NFA is pooled alongside China Railway, Vatukoula Gold Mine, Vodafone, Moit 1, Agriculture Ministry and Water Authority of Fiji.
