NFA on standby

THE cleaning of schools affected by the recent floods in the North will be done once water supply normalises.
According to the Northern Emergency Operation Centre, a team from the National Fire Authority is on standby to clean schools.
“The NFA are on standby to start with cleaning up once WAF confirms water availability for the clean-up in schools affected by the floods,” the report stated.
“A team from the military force is also on standby to assist the Commissioner Northern’s office with the distribution of food rations.”
Assessments made by Government officials after the flood revealed that 71 households in 16 settlements of Macuata were affected by the flood.
The report stated that the 71 households included 399 people out of which 238 were adults, 124 were children and 38 infants.
