Tourism Fiji has noted uplift in interest from visitors in Vancouver and some major cities across Canada.

And chief executive Brent Hill heaped praises for the introduction of the Nadi-Vancouver route saying it would open up the Canadian market.

“It’s really good to have another market; this is the perfect time for us to be going across,” Mr Hill said.

“We will go across to Toronto and enter into North America talking to all the agents and the plan is over about a week or so really just talking to everybody telling them all about Fiji perfect time because obviously the flight opens in November.”

Mr Hill said the excitement had already begun to kick in and the November timeline was just perfect as they headed into 2023.

He said the excitement would continue as the local sector head into its peak season from April onwards.

The Vancouver trip would also give tourism stakeholders the opportunity to meet with five key agents there.

“We’ve got a number of different trade shows and cocktail parties as well where we get to talk about Fiji.”
