New promoters

TWO new boxing promoters were given green light by the Boxing Commission of Fiji to promote boxing in Fiji.

Businessman Krishnaji Mudaliar and former boxer Farmaan Ali were issued certificates to host boxing programs by the Boxing Commission of Fiji West director Usman Ali ‘Lale’.

The duo said the objective of their motives was to help lifted the standard of boxing in Fiji.

Mudalliar who is also a former boxer has spent more than 10 years in Australia said he always haD passion for the sport.

“Boxing is in my blood and I am grateful to be given the opportunity to help the local boxers. My plan is to get top overseas boxers to battle against the locals.”

Ali also echoed the similar sentiments in his effort to help local boxers be exposed to top-class boxing.

“I have been involved in boxing for a very long time and this time I want to make sure that boxers are guaranteed quality fights through my programs.

“I am also planning to invite some top class boxers to battle against our boys.”

Boxing Commission of Fiji West director Usman Ali Lale said the two new promoters had met all the necessary requirements and were willing to help lift the standard of boxing in Fiji.
