Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will receive the new Airbus A350-900, named Island of Beqa tomorrow at the Nadi International Airport, Fiji Airways has confirmed.

The Airbus A350-900 Xtra Widebody will arrive at Nadi airport at 1:15pm.

The aircraft was spotted in Malta this week after completing maintenance checks.

“Island of Beqa” will be the third Airbus A350-900 to join the Fiji Airways fleet, with Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad informing Parliament in April that the airline hoped to welcome two new planes this year to continue with the airline’s ambitious growth plans.

The Airbus A350-900 remains the largest aircraft in the airline’s fleet, with a maximum capacity of 334 passengers, in a two-class configuration — 33 in business class and 301 in economy class.

Fiji Airways said no VIPs would be on the plane when it arrived tomorrow.
