THE Labasa football side will reveal their new head coach after the 2018 Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series.
The new coach will guide the side in the Fiji Vodafone Premier League.
Varun Anand, vice-president for Labasa football said they should be making an announcement early next week.
“We should be naming our coach by Monday or Tuesday next week,” he said.
Former Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy is assisting the side in the absence of a full-time coach.
Labasa travels to Churchill Park to face Lautoka in the second leg of the CVC series tomorrow night 7pm.
The first leg last Saturday at Subrail Park ended in a 0-0 draw.
Anand also said that tough defender and national rep Amani Makoe has reunited with the Lions. Makoe had to miss the first leg as he was serving a suspension after coping a red card at the Courts Inter District Championship last year.
“Amani is back training with the side and should be making his return. Lautoka will not be an easy side to beat and we will have to work hard for a victory. We are looking forward to the match and we just hope the Labasa fans in the Western Division come out in numbers and support us on Friday,” Anand said.
The Lautoka v Labasa clash kicks off 7pm tomorrow night at Churchill Park.
The Vodafone Fiji Premier League also starts this weekend with three matches scheduled.
Rewa-Suva clash at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nadi-Ba – Prince Charles and Lautoka-Tavua at Churchill Park.
All these matches will be held on Sunday and kick off 3pm.
