New joint rural water scheme to benefit 800 Fijians

THE joint rural water scheme project at Sawakasa Village, in Tailevu was commissioned yesterday.

In his address at the commissioning, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Service, Jone Usamate said “Government will not rest on its laurels until every single household has access to safe clean drinking water.”

The new water supply system is a joint scheme which benefits Fijians in Sakawasa Village, Waivou Settlement, Lodoni Village and Lodoni Primary School.

The water system benefits more than 800 Fijians in Tailevu.
