New FNRL ground

THE Fiji National Rugby League has leased the Ra sports grounds from Fiji Sports Council namely the Pacific Energy FNRL sports grounds which will be used for high performance and to generate income.
Fiji National Rugby League CEO Timoci Naleba said, the grounds would be used for high performance and competitions not only for rugby league but for other sporting bodies as well.
“The most important component of any HPU facility is to have a ground, with that ground we’ll be able to have camps, training and also competition.
“Securing a ground is very important strategically decision we can be able to facilitate most of the needs of a HPU” said Naleba.
With FNRL securing a ground it’s a major boost for rugby league as a whole, and is beneficial to the association.
“The benefits are that we will be able to have competitions if other grounds are engaged, we have a ground and we determine who plays on the ground if there are no other grounds available. We have facility that can host HPU teams, and we also have training ground” said Naleba.
The Pacific Energy FNRL sports grounds is also used to generate revenue and is also available to other sporting bodies.
“It’s a source of revenue for us, we can have competitions not only for rugby league but other sports as well” said Naleba.
The Pacific Energy sports grounds have starts its business in hiring grounds to other sporting bodies who are willing to use the ground for tournament which cost $50 an hour.
