THE annual Hutson Cup which is usually played during the Easter long weekend has been shifted to June.
The Hutson Cup is Bowls Fiji’s oldest tournament dating back to 1925. It is a premier fours event which attracts the best players from the clubs.
Bowls Fiji secretary Abdul Kalim said since the national team would be flying out to Australia tomorrow, they had decided to hold the event during the National Sports and Wellness Day long weekend in June.

“The national team is leaving early for Australia in preparations for the Commonwealth Games,” Kalim said.
“They will have six days to adapt to the conditions in the Gold Coast.”
Meanwhile the Fiji Selection side took a silver medal and a gold medal during the Tiger Bowls Championship in Hong Kong and China.
