With the recent resignation of national netball coach Jenny Brazel, Netball Fiji will be advertising the post in the next few days.

Netball Fiji president Ruby-Ann Sorovaki said based on Jen’s recent resignation the Netball Fiji executives had met to discuss and evaluate the best way forward and would be advertising the post over the next few days.

“We hope to have Jen’s replacement in place as soon as practicable and In respect of the recruitment process we will advise once a coach is named. The former assistant coach for the Queensland Firebirds tendered her resignation due to personal reasons.

She was the coach of the Fiji Pearls for nine months. Meanwhile with the “Return to Sports Framework” Sorovaki stated that NF believes it helps to have an overarching document to guide NSO’s and the monitoring of all required protocol will fall on both NA and our districts.

“Given this all district presidents are aware of the need to be vaccinated to allow for a safe return to sport. “At our last council meeting they were requested to start at looking at scenarios to ensure we adhere to guidelines and restrictions.

“Our districts vary in size, in how and where they play so it’s not a one size fits all application, we need to ensure they are receiving the correct information so they are making informed decisions related to the various spaces of play.

“This process will require stakeholder collaboration and we have encouraged districts to talk to NF and other stakeholders should they need.

“We will be submitting our Return to Play document due 24/09 to ensure we can get accredited and be allowed to play netball as and when we are permitted to.”
