THE brand new $95,669 bus handed over to the management of the Gospel School for the Deaf in Suva will enable those with hearing disabilities to see what a crucial part of their learning process is.

School head Nirmal Mudaliar said seeing was a vital learning component for those with hearing disabilities.

Ms Mudaliar said the new bus that they received from the Japanese Embassy on Friday would benefit the 55 students enrolled at the school to travel for school excursions.

“The new bus is a replacement for an old bus donated to the school by the embassy in 2003 which has grown old from its years of service,” she said.

Speaking at the official handover of the 30-seater bus, First Secretary and Head of Development Cooperation Division at the Japanese Embassy Taisuke Iwano said the project was possible through the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Program (GGP).
