MAN of the moment Alivereti Veitokani continued his mesmerising form from two weeks ago as he played a vital role to help the Fiji Airways Drua side thump Brisbane City 66-5 at Lautoka’s Churchill Park on Saturday.

His vision for the game, eye for the gaps, perfect angle running to beat defenders, decisions with ball in hand and his general play were instrumental for the Drua side and helped his teammates to secure another convincing win.

Veitokani brought the crowd to the edge of their seats with breaking runs that set up three tries and his combination with halfback Frank Lomani created havoc for the opposition.

He engineered his team’s attacking play at first spell contributing to their five first half tries and played equally well at fullback after being shifted at the back later in the second spell.

Drua head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said the Tailevu native continued to improve and played a huge role in the team’s big win over the Brisbane City.

Seruvakula said Veitokani had the talents needed to best utilise his skills with the rest of his teammates.

“Freddy has been consistent but still needs more work as sometimes he just gets carried away,” he said.

“He can do anything but he has to remember there are 14 other players in the team and needs to work in the system of our game pattern.

He has the talent to run from any angle but needs to be smart.”

Seruvakula said Veitokani had gained the confidence and would play a key role for the Drua in this year’s NRC.

The Drua will play Queensland Country next.
