THE most awaited Grasshoppers Netball Tournament has been cancelled due to the measles outbreak here in the country.
According to their Facebook page they have taken the rare move of postponing the tournament next week till further notice, amid health concerns relating to the measles outbreak here in the Pacific.
This is a directive forwarded by the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Fiji Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) and the Sports Commission.
We wholeheartedly understand the disappointment circled around this decision and the investment that has been put into making this tournament happen for the 2019 tournament registered teams.
Tournament manager Alumeci Sachs said they have sent their disappointment but respects and understand our measles outbreak situation which is beyond our control.
“They look forward for the right time for Grasshoppers to stage their age category tournament next year.”
