NETBALL Fiji has named its final squad to the 2019 Netball World Cup which is scheduled for July 12 to 21 in Liverpool, England.

The team had been chosen after an intensive three-week training camp in Brisbane.

Netball Fiji president Wainikiti Bogidrau said a few players had been withdrawn from the squad because of injuries.

“The camp saw the withdrawal of Matila Waqawai due to knee injury, also injured is Alisi Nawele who had travelled from the UK for the camp.

“Laisani Waqa, who partially dislocated her knee during the Singapore tour two months ago has been cleared by the physio; alongside Sydney-based Kaitlyn Fisher,” said Bogidrau.

The Fiji Pearls girls are now in Auckland for their final preparations for the World Cup before they return home this Sunday before they travel to Liverpool on Friday July 5.

“We congratulate the 12 players for their achievement – and extend our very best wishes to all of them and to their captain Una Rauluni, who will be ably supported by Asilika Sevutia,” said Bogidrau.
