Swire Shipping Fijian Drua captain Nemani Nagusa is up for selection this week against Moana Pasifika after completing a three-week suspension for dangerous play.
Nagusa was handed the suspension following his red card in the Super Rugby Pacific round 7 loss to the Waratahs on April 1.
The 33-year-old was sent off after his late and high shot on Waratah Tane Edmed.
Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne said they were looking forward to the number eight’s return to the field.
“Nems is available for selection this weekend. He was available last week but he hadn’t done a full week of training and he aggravated a knee injury,” Byrne said.
“We’re expecting him to train fully this week and be available for selection.”
While speaking in Suva following the end of his suspension two weeks ago, Nagusa said it had been a “disappointing” time watching the Drua from the sidelines.
“I’m very excited. It had been a disappointing three weeks. I know I let the boys down,’ Nagusa said after the Drua match against the Highlanders.
“When I got the suspension I had a hard time trying to get rid of it. It has happened and now I’m looking forward to getting back out there with the boys.”
The match against Moana Pasifika will be held on Saturday at CommBank Stadium in Paramatta, Sydney. Kick off is at 4.35pm.
