Neiliko to lead Fiji Pearls in netball series

Update: 8:46PM DEFENDER Mere Neiliko will lead the Fiji netball side in the Digicel Punjas International Series which starts this Friday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

The 31-year-old, who led the team in the Oceania Netball Tri Series against the Silver Ferns and Samoa, will be assisted by shooter Maria Lutua.

Fiji will play against Papua New Guinea and Singapore in the five-day series which is earmarked as a build-up for the Pacific Games in July and the Netball World Cup in August.

Coach Kate Carpenter will field two teams in the series to help her select the final squad for the Pacific Game on May 9. 

The series kicks off at 5pm with Digicel/Punjas Fiji taking on PNG One in the opening match followed by PNG Two versus Singapore match at7pm.
