Suva City Council (SCC) chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua has called on members of the public not to come to the Capital City unnecessarily.

He said in recent weeks, his staff members noticed unnecessary movement by people within the city and some even brought children along.

“It has been a challenge for us, having people coming here unnecessarily,” he said.

“For people that come to the Suva market, we are advising only one person per family. Don’t bring your children because if you do, we will send you back.”

Mr Tikoduadua was among SCC staff members who received their COVID-19 vaccinations yesterday and said it was the best protection from the pandemic.

“We have about 600 staff and we want to make sure that everyone out there that’s doing the frontline functions are vaccinated.

“If you want to see your family, get jabbed and also your family and definitely stay home if you’ve got nothing to do in Suva.”
