WITH the evolution of nursing throughout the world, there is a great need to upgrade nursing qualifications, says Director Nursing Silina Waqa Ledua.

While addressing graduate nurses from the TISI Sangam College of Nursing in Suva today, Ms Ledua said this would essentially equip nurses to meet the evolving challenges of health services.

And with more than 60 nurses who graduated today, she said the upgrade in nurses qualification was an expectations from employers.

“We commend the pursuit and steady progress in nursing academic development as our undergraduate entry qualification is in par with most of the international nursing fraternity which brings in a sense of recent and relevancy as far as academic standards are concerned,” she said.

Meanwhile, 46 nurses graduated from the college’s Bachelor of Nursing Science program (post registration), while another 16 graduated in Midwifery.
