AGRICULTURE Ministry permanent secretary David Kolitagane opened the Ministry’s Strategic Development Plan and Costed Operation Plan Workshop in Nadi this morning by calling for greater urgency in the work being done in the field and to be more customer-focused.

He said there was a need for a change in mindset within the ministry.

Mr Kolitagane said the ministry could not continue with the ‘business as usual’ and ‘vakamalua attitude’ when it came to engaging and responding to farmers requests.

“This has to change,” he said.

“We have to adapt for our key customers and farmers.

“Focus on the ministry plan and not your plan.”
