NDMO clarifies weather system still a tropical disturbance

THE present weather situation is still considered a tropical disturbance and is yet to be announced as a tropical cyclone.

This was highlighted by the director of the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), Vasiti Soko, during a press conference this afternoon.

She said the Fiji Meteorological Services had stated that the path predicted for TD04F would come through Vanua Levu, Lomaviti and out the Lau Group.

“I would also like to make it clear that at the moment that it’s not a tropical cyclone , it’s yet to be announced as a tropical cyclone,” Ms Soko said.

“We ask if you live in these areas highlighted, please inform us of any issues.”
