THE Suva Magistrates Court has granted bail to a 36-year-old woman facing a charge of one count of malicious act.

Titilia Camaibau appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili on Thursday.

The police prosecution did not object to bail as the mother of the accused was the sole surety.

Ms Camaibau is alleged to have posted false information on social media in relation to the COVID-19 situation.

Mr Ratuvili told the accused to reside at Nadali Village and not change her address and report to Suva Magistrates Court for her next court sitting.

The matter has been adjourned to May 4.
