Nausori wins AFL high school competition

NAUSORI Under 15 team came out victorious in the Australian Football league (AFL) Fiji High school competition beating Suva Grammar School 17-13 at Albert Park in Nasese, Suva today.

The competition was held to choose top fifty players to compete in the Fiji Day trophy which will feature teams from Suva, Nadi and Lautoka.

AFL Fiji development coordinator Matelita Tuilevuka said there was a good turnout in this years competition.

“We had three Suva schools and a team from Nausori that came in today to be part of the competition,” said Tuilevuka.

“The teams each brought a huge number which shows that there is a lot of interest shown in the sport,” she added.

Results: first place- Nausori, second place- Suva Grammar school, third place- John Wesley college, fourth place- AOG secondary school.
