Opposition MP Viliame Naupoto says the Fiji Government is structured to survive but not structured to serve the people of Fiji.

Speaking at the Opposition Chambers to members of the media yesterday, the former army commander said Government was not effective.

“They’re structured to survive, to keep the coalition intact,” Mr Naupoto said.

“And that is having a negative effect on how people of this country are served,” he added.

Mr Naupoto said the Government was worried about themselves too much and not worrying about the people who voted them in.

“It’s a daily survival game for them and they’re losing out on doing what they’re supposed to be doing – serving the people of this country.

“I urge the Government, go serve the people, stop trying to be using up energy trying to survive. The people need to be served. They are out there crying.”

Meanwhile, Opposition MPs and staff celebrated Pinktober at their office, and Fiji Cancer Society clinical nurse Karolina Tamani made presentations on the patient support services, awareness and prevention education sessions of the deadly disease.
