THE National Women’s cricket side has been confirmed to compete at next year’s 2020 ICC World T20 Qualifiers.
Also the vice-captain, Ruci Muriyalo has achieved a personal milestone by being selected in the ICC East-Asia Pacific Women’s Cricket team for the upcoming Australian Country Cricket Championship in Victoria.
Muriyalo becomes the first ever Fijian to be selected in the women’s side.
She brings with her a wealth of experience to the group after making her debut for the national team back in 2011.
“I’ve learnt a lot over the years both playing and officiating and I am very humbled by my selection and looking forward to contributing to the team,” she said.
Muriyalo departs for Australia in January and joins up with her team mates before heading down to Victoria for the championship before facing the likes of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and ACT in the two week tournament.
