National football team prepares for internationals matches

VODAFONE Fiji football coach Christophe Gamel has selected a mixture of youth and experienced players in his 28-member extended squad for the matches against Solomon Islands and Singapore next month.
Ba’s Muisiwani Nairube( 22 yrs), Tavua’s Jovilisi Borisi (21) and Navua’s Navua’s Alzaar Alam (18) are the three goalkeepers in the squad.
Alam was in the extended squad of the national team but missed out selection for the clash against Estonia last year.
Nadroga’s Paula Buke, Rewa’s Savenaca Baledrokadroka and Mohammed Ramzan Khan, Tavua’s Ratu Dau, Hussaini Khan and Ratu Nalewadonu with Ba’s Kishan Sami are some other young players in the squad.
Players like Laisenia Raura, Junior Narendra Rao, Remueru Takiate, Saula Waqa, Peniame Drova, ame Votoniu, Christopher Wasasala, Kolinio Sivoki and Rusiate Matererega retain their positions in the squad.
Scott Warra, Mataiasi Toma and Roy Krishna are the overseas based players in the team.
Fiji takes on the Solomon Islands next Wednesday at Suva’s ANZ Stadium before they travel to play Singapore on the 11th of September.
