A FIRST half red card failed to stop Nailaga FC of Ba from winning against Nadi based Blues FC 2-0 in their National Club Championship clash at Fiji Football Academy in Vatuwaqa today.

” The message to the players at halftime was 10 players are just as good as 11.”

A tense first half saw Nailaga midfielder Joeli Ranitu red carded for foul play.

“We stuck to our gameplan and the players did well, the tournament isn’t over and we have another big game tomorrow.”

A player down, Nailaga regrouped to score through a wellworked move off the boot of striker Saula Waqa.

Nailaga struck the final blow early after the breather after forward Josaia Tuwai put the ball over the Blues keeper.

Nailaga FC now leads group A and will play Friends United today while Bureta FC will take on the Blues FC.
